Earthquake April 7 2009

The USGS measured a small earthquake in Los Angeles on Tuesday night at just after 10pm local time.

The epicenter was about 6 miles deep and only measured a 2.5.

A few people have reported light shaking to the USGS, and they're ranking this one as a weak tremor.

It is at least enough to get people talking. It's highly searched right now on the web and Twitter.

Alaska also reported an earthquake on Tuesday

Adam Lambert blows away the audience with a spectacular performance of Tears for Fears Mad World (the video is now online) and it was absolutely special. He is far and away the American idol favorite. In a dreaded glitch or a blessing (depending on your view of listening to Paula Abdul, Randy and Kara babble on) for the reality TV show, Lambert was the last performer and the show was already way long and that meant the judges were cut short. Lambert got a 'no words necessary' review from bad boy judge Simon Cowell.

He also gave Adam a standing ovation. The show now seems like it is nothing more than Lambert's personal stage that he dominates each week. He was fortunate to draw the last spot he left chills for many that watched the performance.

Right Celebrity has video of the marvelous idol moment here and they note that "the song topped the charts in the UK when was covered in 2003 by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules for the soundtrack to the movie Donnie Darko. Lambert has now had several 'best of the night' performances and aside from Danny Gokey can anyone else really win this thing?
